Event Details

We would love to have you attend our annual event, Women Who Dared - Telling Women's Stories, Giving Women Voices.  Women Who Dared is a cocktail reception and fundraiser. This event is the Chapter’s opportunity to thank Chicago leaders for their contributions to the feminist community. We would be honored to have your help in making this year’s event a success.

This year, we are proud to honor Jody Raphael, Senior Research Fellow at the Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center at DePaul College of Law and a visiting professor at DePaul College of Law, and Rachel Durchslag, Executive Director and Founder of the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation (CAASE).

The reception will take place on September 29, 2010 from 6pm to 9pm at Mars Gallery in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood http://www.marsgallery.com/.

Please direct any responses or questions you may have to Melissa Satterlee, Chicago NOW President, at melissasatterlee@hotmail.com or (630) 254-9809.

Chicago Chapter of the National Organization for Women

Chicago NOW is an all-volunteer chapter, financed solely by contributions from its members and supporters. In the past year, the Chapter hosted numerous events to raise money for The Bandana Project, an initiative through the Southern Poverty Law Center that supports female migrant workers who battle sexual violence while at work. Chicago NOW has also cleaned up littered lots in the Washington Park neighborhood to demonstrate a genuine commitment to the South Side communities targeted for anti-abortion billboards. Additionally, the Chapter has partnered with like-minded organizations to raise awareness about social injustices that women face each day. This year, the chapter plans to continue its work to support a woman’s right to choose, have access to affordable health care, work in safe and impartial environments, and have marriage equality.
